Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using CalmMile's car rental services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using our services.
Eligibility Requirements
To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and provide a valid credit card. International visitors must present a valid International Driving Permit along with their home country license.
Reservation and Booking
Reservations can be made through our website or by phone. All bookings are subject to vehicle availability and confirmation. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel reservations at our discretion.
Vehicle Pickup and Return
Vehicles must be picked up and returned at designated locations during specified hours. Late returns may incur additional charges. You are responsible for inspecting the vehicle before departure and reporting any pre-existing damage.
Rental Rates and Payment
Rental rates are based on the selected time period and vehicle type. Payment is due at the time of booking or pickup. Additional charges may apply for fuel, tolls, parking violations, and damage to the vehicle.
Vehicle Use Restrictions
Vehicles may only be driven by authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement. Prohibited uses include racing, off-road driving, towing, and transportation of illegal substances. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles.
Insurance Coverage
Basic insurance coverage is included with all rentals. Additional coverage options are available for purchase. Renters are responsible for deductibles and any damages not covered by insurance.
Fuel and Mileage Policy
Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and should be returned with a full tank. Failure to refuel will result in refueling charges. Unlimited mileage is included with daily and weekly rentals.
Cancellation and Modification
Reservations may be cancelled or modified up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time without penalty. Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur charges. No-shows will be charged the full rental amount.
Damage and Loss Responsibility
Renters are responsible for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period, including but not limited to collision damage, theft, vandalism, and interior damage. Repair costs will be charged to the renter's credit card.
Traffic Violations and Fines
Renters are responsible for all traffic violations, parking tickets, and toll charges incurred during the rental period. Administrative fees may apply for processing violations and fines.
Limitation of Liability
CalmMile's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or vehicles.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of our services will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Japanese law. Legal proceedings must be conducted in Osaka, Japan.
Force Majeure
CalmMile is not liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, or other force majeure events.
Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
